For the most part, Myles Garrett has lived up to the billing of a No. 1 NFL draft pick over his eight years with the Cleveland Browns. But after another losing season and little indication that the Browns will be a serious Super Bowl contender in the next couple of seasons, the Browns all-time sack leader has asked for a trade.
“While I’ve loved calling this city my home,” Garrett said in his public trade request. “My desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for a Super Bowl.”
Garrett has been named to five straight Pro Bowls and has been either a first or second team All-Pro in each of those campaigns. If he is moved, he’ll finish with 352 total tackles — 116 for loss — and 102.5 sacks and 200 quarterback hits in 117 games.
