The Phoenix Suns have a new all-time leading scorer in franchise history.
Devin Booker drained a classic corner three-point shot in the third quarter against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night, marking his 15,668th career point with the franchise.
Booker passed team legend Walter Davis (15,666 points from 1977-88) and he’s only 28 years old, meaning that record is only going to continue growing over the remainder of his career in Phoenix.
Family and friends of the Suns star embraced him at the next stoppage in play, congratulating him on the historic achievement.
Booker was selected 13th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky, quickly endearing himself to fans of a franchise that was in desperate need of a generational talent.
Years later, he took the team from the basement to the NBA Finals and still has it competing in the playoffs year after year.
The remarkable career milestone should certainly enshrine him as one of the best to ever put on the Suns uniform and perhaps even one of the greatest to play the game at the NBA level.
The Trail Blazers defeated the Suns 121-119 in overtime.
