New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers had his second straight huge game on Sunday, leading the team to a 21-15 win against the Cleveland Browns.
Nabers finished the contest with a game-high eight receptions and team highs in receiving yards (78) and targets (12) while matching Browns wideout Amari Cooper’s pair of touchdown catches.
With his standout effort in Week 3, the rookie first-round pick now has multiple NFL records to his credit.
Unsurprisingly, Nabers leads the G-Men in a host of pass-catching categories including targets (37), receptions (23), receiving yards (271) and touchdowns (three).
The LSU product had a mediocre NFL debut in Week 1 with five catches for 66 scoreless yards on seven targets vs. the Minnesota Vikings but has now gone for three touchdowns with 205 yards on 18 receptions via 30 looks across the last two contests.
Though it’s still early, Nabers is on pace to become the first New York wide receiver since Odell Beckham Jr. to have a 1,000-yard campaign. OBJ accomplished the feat four times in his five years with the Giants, including in his final year with Big Blue in 2018, when he racked up 1,052 yards.
New York selected Nabers with the sixth overall pick in April’s NFL Draft. He led the SEC in receptions in each of the last two seasons with 72 and 89, respectively, and paced the conference in receiving yards in 2023 with 1,569.
The 21-year-old Nabers will look to continue his hot start when he faces Trevon Diggs and the rest of the Dallas Cowboys secondary in Week 4 on “Thursday Night Football.”
