The 2025 NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and it’s no secret that the Green Bay Packers need help at wide receiver.
They signed veteran Mecole Hardman in free agency, but he’s unlikely to be a major factor on offense.
The Packers will hope the trio of Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks step up to fulfill their potential while Christian Watson heals from another injury.
Green Bay still undoubtedly needs some fresh talent in the wide receiver room, though, and recent reports suggest that general manager Brian Gutekunst may have a target in mind in the draft.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Reid, Gutekunst was in attendance for Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan’s private individual workout this past week. He was the only NFL general manager in attendance among the scouts there.
If the Packers do draft McMillan, they may have to move up to do so. NFL insider Bucky Brooks considers him the top wideout in the draft, as does ESPN.
The Packers have pick No. 23, so there’s a chance he may not be available at that spot.
It’s worth noting that the Packers haven’t drafted a first-round wide receiver since Javon Walker in 2002, so getting McMillan would be a huge bucking of Green Bay’s draft philosophy.
At 6-foot-5, 212 pounds, McMillan had 84 catches last season for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns (15.7 yards per catch).
