Just one game into the 2025 Major League Baseball season, Shohei Ohtani is already back to his history making ways. After becoming the first MLB player ever to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases last year, Ohtani became the first Japanese-born player to score two or more runs in an MLB game at the Tokyo Dome as the Dodgers beat the Cubs 4-1 on Opening Day. Ohtani finished 2-for-5 while his countryman Yoshinobu Yamamoto twirled five strong innings, allowing one run on three hits with four strikeouts. Meanwhile, Chicago’s Shota Imanaga went four no-hit innings, but did walk four batters.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Ohtani’s 54 home runs, 197 hits and 81 walks gave him plenty of opportunities to cross home plate, resulting in an MLB-leading 134 runs scored in 2024. With that being said, how many of the MLB players to score at least 90 runs last season can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
