The last time the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl, it was their second crack against an iconic signal caller in Tom Brady. This year, they get another second chance against another generational talent in Patrick Mahomes. In their first matchup, Hurts arguably out-performed Mahomes throwing for just one touchdown to Mahomes’ three – but throwing for 122 more yards and adding three rushing touchdowns.
Despite Hurts showing up when the lights were brightest, the Chiefs were able to edge out the Eagles 38-35. This time, Philadelphia has mostly the same receiving options but have significantly upgraded at running back from Miles Sanders to Saquon Barkley. With dynamic playmakers on offense and a defense that allowed the second-fewest points-per-game in the regular season, this is as good a chance a team has had to unseat the Chiefs as champions.
