Some of the top NHL prospects stood out during the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey tournament on Friday.
Here’s who’s still in it, who has been knocked out and what’s next for some of these top NHL prospects.
Ryan Leonard, W, Boston College
Leonard, 20, is considered the most NHL-ready forward prospect not in the NHL. The eighth pick of the 2023 NHL Draft is wrapping up his sophomore campaign. While he struggled at times with some choppy ice in Boston College’s 3-1 win over Bentley University on Friday, he assisted on linemate Gabe Perreault’s opening goal and scored an empty netter to close out the Falcons. Leonard is expected to join the Stanley Cup-contending Washington Capitals upon the conclusion of BC’s season.
