Looking to change your fantasy fortunes with a waiver wire pickup? Lucky for you, these options are still widely available for Week 13.
1. Dallas, DST (rostered in 29% of Yahoo leagues)
Prior to Sunday’s game against Dallas, Washington had allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game (2.64) to opposing defenses. Four sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery later, the Cowboys defense led the NFL with 22.0 fantasy points in Week 12.
Dallas actually forced four fumbles despite recovering only one. But its special teams pitched in with a pair of touchdowns including, this 99-yard kick return by wide receiver KaVontae Turpin.
This week the Cowboys host a Giants team that managed only seven points against Tampa Bay with new starting quarterback Tommy DeVito. Dallas is a mess right now but New York is a dumpster fire offensively.
Only five teams are projected to score more fantasy points on defense than Dallas over the next four weeks, making it an ideal pickup in Week 13.
2. Noah Gray, TE, Kansas City Chiefs (rostered in 4% of Yahoo leagues)
Available in 97% of Yahoo leagues going into Sunday’s game against Carolina, Gray headlined our list of post-waiver pickups last week. Rest assured, 100% of your league mates will look to pick him up this week.
Gray had four catches for 66 yards and two scores against the Panthers one week after scoring two touchdowns against a tough Bills defense in Week 12. He’s now scored 40.9 fantasy points in his last two games, 25.9 more than teammate Travis Kelce.
Next week they’ll face a Raiders defense currently allowing more fantasy points per game (17.1) to tight ends than any other team. Kelce put up 25 fantasy points against Las Vegas in Week 8, but given Gray’s recent performance, expect the Chiefs to use plenty of two tight end sets at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday night.
3. Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears (rostered in 54% of Yahoo leagues)
The Bears lost their fifth-straight game Sunday, but it’s hard to blame Williams for the defeat. With only 21 seconds remaining in the game and the Bears trailing by three points, Williams completed a 29-yard pass to wide receiver D.J. Moore to get the team into field-goal range, allowing kicker Cairo Santos to send the game into overtime.
Chicago would eventually lose 30-27, but Williams went 32-47 for 340 yards and two touchdowns in the game and his 26.9 fantasy points were fourth-most among quarterbacks in Week 12. He also rushed six times for 33 yards. He’ll need more than that to keep up with a Detroit team scoring a league-leading 32.7 points per game, giving him a safe floor for Week 13.
